The following is a selection of my work made at Saratoga High School and the University of Lincoln. As well as school projects, I have selected some personal pieces.
Born in St Albans, England, my horizons broadened when I moved to the USA aged 11. Now 19, I have graduated from Saratoga High, California, in 2023 and I am currently a Film Production student at the University of Lincoln in England.
The American Story was our first high school project with complete creative freedom. The intent was to create a film about a poignant time in American history; we chose the Great Depression. The film took three days of shooting in various locations, we had a professional actor who worked alongside some of my friends and family. I was involved in all aspects of this project, majoring in filming and editing.
This music film was made to educate other students about a key turning point in WW1. It was the first project we worked on during the Covid restrictions, meaning we had to shoot on phones and record sound via voice memos rather than using professional sound equipment. My primary role on this film was editing the sound; this was particularly challenging due to Covid restrictions and the actors had no previous singing experience.
This film was the first project I worked on in my junior year at high school. The film is based on a poem called Human Family written by Maya Angelou; our task was to explain the meaning of the poem via the medium of film. This film was nominated for my high school's end-of year Media Arts Awards. For this project I was mainly on the other side of the camera as I starred as one of the lead actors.
This project was our first project at university using all of the skills we have learnt in our Film Technologies and Craft Skills module. We were asked to that the film would be of high technical standard in terms of image and sound, well edited in terms of pacing and transitions, and shot in black and white picture profile.
As our final project for my Film Technologies and Craft Skills module we were asked to create promo videos and upon discussing we wanted to create a fun parody video of the printer scene of Office Space.
Venice Canals, Italy
This was a project intended to demonstrate how to launch a new product and business. The team were responsible for designing and creating a product, a business plan, and marketing materials. The idea was pitched to business moguls in a Dragon's Den-style interview. Two of the Dragon's decided to invest $2m in Froyo Fosho; they requested a share of our subscription revenues. I played the role of CEO.
In my Contexts of Film Practice module we were asked to create a manifesto that should relate to a theme that our group agrees is of contemporary relevance examples including race, gender, sexuality, class, and sustainability.
In 2018-19 I was made Vice President of my middle school. This honor recognises those who are collegiate in their approach and contribute to the school community. During my tenure as Vice President, I ran many different events such as The Junior Olympics (working with children with disabilities).
When shooting our film a Guilty Conscience we were asked to keep a log of everything that we did in pre-production, production, and post production. We were also asked to research our role before production got started so that we were prepared for what we needed to do.
In my junior year of high school we got our first project with creative freedom in which we could pick a time in history to create a fiction story. I wrote this script with a group who I then worked with to create our short film.
This is the script I am working on for the final film project in my Media Arts class. The objective of this project is to combine all of the skills we have learnt in the 4 years of the Media Arts Program.
This was my first script that I wrote alone as a apart of my Screenwriting and Fiction Production module at university. We were asked to write a short script with no dialogue which we could potentially make into a film as first year production students. I had to make sure that my script should be formatted as per the industry standard for screenplay format.
This was my second script that I wrote for my Screenwriting and Fiction production module in which we had to include dialogue. Following along the same parameters as our first script but needed to be longer and include a logline.
